Domain Addiction: How I Bought Too Many and Used Too Few

It started with just one. A perfect .com for my next big ideafriendion.com (those who know me in person know about this project that I worked on for over 2 years). Then came another—just in case. Soon, I had a cart full of domains, each representing a brilliant startup that never saw the light of day.

Buying domains felt productive, like laying the groundwork for something huge. In reality, I was just hoarding digital real estate, convincing myself that one day, one day, I’d build them all. Spoiler alert: I didn’t.

The problem? Domains are cheap, but ideas require execution. I wasn’t launching businesses; I was collecting URLs like Pokémon. At some point, I realized the renewal fees were stacking up, and my so-called “investments” were nothing more than abandoned dreams sitting in a digital dashboard.

Many of them I still belive could have gone for a fair some if I put them in auction but never did.

Here are the list of domains I owned: Online.tv, 4Chairs.co.in, friendion.in, ab3d.in, AskGovt.com, flashback.online, frnz.site, rohith.info, webe.site, shopat.site, tympass.in, SuhrudAppLab.com, 0P.world, 1L.world, 5t.world, w2.world, u8.world, adzcash.com,icocoinz.com, TheCrazyKing.com, vblockcha.in, ShopLoop.co, spami.co, inclogistics.co, TheSoftwear.com, 777.cheap, Want2Code.com, w2c.me, WelcomeToCoding.com, QuarksEdutech.com, AdobeLab.com, arilines.com.co, fecebook.me, images.ly, googlle.in, FashionRepubliq.com, styleech.com , IndiaTodayNews.in, techpredators.com, isthisindian.com, and many others that I forgot by now.

Here are the list of domains I still own: 5gy5.com, NewyearTickets.com, OfficialNote.com, f48.co, friendion.com, TravellerTalks.com, ProperTick.in, retrohit.in, webs.cc

So, I quit. I let go of unused domains, kept only the essentials, and made a rule: No buying unless I’m ready to build.

Moral of the story? Owning a domain isn’t the same as building something real, nor is it an investment. If you’re stuck in the loop, maybe it’s time to stop shopping and start creating.
