5 Short Films, 0 Uploads – The Fear of Sharing My Work
We shot five short films. Five. Yet, none of them ever made it online.
It wasn’t because we didn’t try. We planned, filmed, and edited each one with passion. But every time we got close to hitting that upload button, doubt crept in. Is this good enough? What if people judge us? And so, they remained buried in hard drives, seen only by a handful of friends. And now you get to watch the chaos.
Even when writing this article I am second guessing my idea of posting those short films. Before you watch any of these, let me get this straight, I know these look like crap, edit is choppy, photography is out of focus, story needs explanation to understand. I think there is an evolution from my first short film to the last. I can live with that. Now you can go watch criticize and comment.
The Unseen Films
🎬 Eleventh Chapter (2012)– Guy tries to solve a puzzle to free his friend from ghost.
🎬 Nannu Nammuko Unnadi Ammuko (2013)– Our recreation of a classic Telugu comedy skit.
🎬 Cheee Deenamma Jeevitham (2014)– A tale of an unlucky boy’s struggle to deliver a bike.
🎬 LUDO (2020)– A story of two siblings lost in technology, who rediscover connection during quarantine.
🎬 Life in Quarantine (2021)– A slice-of-life film capturing a day in the life of Sanju Pretham.
Looking back, we enjoyed every second of it—the chaotic planning, the endless retakes, the late-night editing sessions. At the time, we were caught up in trying to make everything perfect. But now, after more than 10 years, it’s not the flaws we remember — it’s the laughter, the excitement, the way every little moment from those shoots still brings a grin to our faces.
They weren’t perfect. People could have critiqued them. But someone out there could have enjoyed them.
Next time, we upload. No overthinking, no second-guessing. Just hitting publish.
